Motorcycle Training Courses

CBT

The CBT – Compulsory Basic Training – is an introduction to motorcycling. A one day course split into five parts. It is designed to provide you with the riding skills that you will need. Successfully complete your CBT and you are legal (legally entitled) to ride on the road.

CBT +

At My Motorcycle Training, we understand that starting your motorcycling journey can feel both exciting and daunting. That’s why we’ve created our CBT for Novice Riders course – tailored specifically for those who want to build a strong foundation in motorcycling, with a little extra time to get everything covered.

Full License

Our full license motorbike license is a 5 day course. Once you have your CBT, you need to pass a motorcycle theory test and practical test within 2 years, or your CBT will expire. There are different categories of licence available and you will take the same test for each, but on a different size of motorcycle.

Full License +

This course is designed for individuals with limited to no experience of controlling a vehicle on UK roads. The Full Licence Plus Course includes two extra days of training, taken after your CBT but before starting big bike training.

Stepping Up

If you already possess a valid CBT certificate and have been riding regularly for approximately three months, then the Honda Stepping Up course is the perfect fit for you. The course provides all the necessary training, including your initial Mod 1 and Mod 2 tests. You'll then be able to obtain a full licence.

Refresher Course

If you possess a motorcycle licence but haven't ridden in a while, our 'Refresher' course is perfect for you. The course is designed to refresh your skills and technique, and help you regain your confidence on the road. Our professional trainers will work with you so you can be fully prepared for the road ahead.

Reduced Stepping Up

This course is similar to a Stepping Up course, but it is specifically designed for riders who have gained a significant amount of experience by riding regularly for at least one year on a 125cc CBT licence.

What Is A Compulsory Basic Training Test?

ABOUT CBT COuRSES

The CBT – Compulsory Basic Training – is an introduction to motorcycling. The training consists of 5 parts of training that is progressively completed through the day. Completing your 'Compulsory Basic Training', CBT test, will allow you to ride any scooter, moped, electric motorbike, 50cc moped or 125cc motorbike of your choice.

What it means

Theoretically, you cannot 'pass or fail' your CBT Test. The real question to ask here is if you are safe to ride on the road unaccompanied or if you would need further training before you receive a CBT test certificate - It is designed to provide you with the riding skills that you will need.

what comes next

Successfully complete your CBT and you will be legally entitled to ride on the road. Without your CBT Certificate, you will not be able to ride. When you finish your CBT Test you will be awarded a certificate of completion (DL196). Check out the Full Licence Course to see what licence type suits you.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Our one day course is split into five parts:

Element A: Eye test
Element B: On-site training
Element C: Onsite riding
Element D: On-road training
Element E: On-road riding
